Responsible Business Programme
In order to support our commitment to conducting our activities in a responsible manner, and to ensure that we are as highly regarded for our integrity, ethical standards and ‘how’ we work, as we are for the quality of our products, 2010 saw the launch of The Morgan Crucible Responsible Business Programme.
The Board and Executive Committee’s commitment to the Programme, as reflected in our Core Values Statement and Group policies, are the foundation of the Programme. The Programme provides comprehensive training across the Group on:
- Anti-trust
- Ethics/Anti-bribery
- Human rights
- Legal and contractual risk management
The training is implemented via ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions for general managers, site level compliance officers and other key staff worldwide, with these general managers then delivering training on a site by site basis to over 1,900 relevant employees. The site level face-to-face training includes dilemma and scenario based discussions complemented by e-learning modules hosted on the Group’s Intranet. The training materials and eLearning modules are available in 13 languages. The eLearning modules conclude with a test where participants are required to achieve a 100% score in order to pass.
Participation in the Programme and implementation of the site level training are monitored by the Board and Executive Committee. The General Counsel and Company Secretary is the Chief Compliance Officer who reports directly to the Board and compliance with Group policies forms part of the remit of Group Internal Audit.
The Programme is evolving and will develop and grow with the business through regular reviews and updates of existing training materials and guidance alongside the introduction of additional responsible business elements.
