Ruby Kaur - Quality Assurance Supervisor
I joined Morgan Technical Ceramics Wesgo Ceramics (MTC Wesgo Ceramics) in Hayward, CA in July 2008 as a Process Engineer following my graduation with a Bachelors degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from San Jose State University in California in May 2008.
As a Process Engineer with MTC Wesgo Ceramics I was involved in various process improvement and operational excellence projects. I supported the company’s goals by developing robust processes using Six Sigma methodology which led to an improved product yield of 30% on the pressure exchanger pump unit production line. I also led “5S & value stream” improvement projects that resulted in 50% reduction of work in process inventory and 40% reduction of lead time on the night vision ceramic component production line.
In my current role as Quality Assurance Supervisor I am responsible for ensuring ISO compliance and improving effectiveness of the quality management system throughout the organization. Examples of my responsibilities include: the implementation of corrective and preventive action program, developing supplier quality management program, coordinating ISO audits, conducting management reviews and revamping employee training.
The opportunities I have had with Morgan have allowed me to explore my leadership, technical and continuous improvement skills. Similarly, the last graduate conference, held in Liverpool in the UK, gave me a great opportunity to network with other graduates within the Morgan Crucible group as well as providing the opportunity to see a bit of the UK! I am now looking forward to continuing to develop my skills, including undertaking an MBA, so that I can continue to develop my business leadership ability.
